 한 때 우표수집이 앞서가는 초딩의 트랜드였던 시절이 있었다.
그래서 기념우표가 나오는 날이면 초절정의 게으름을 이겨내고 새벽같이 우체국에 죽치고 있다가 인쇄처, 발행처, 색도, 디자이너등이 같이 붙어있는 일명 '명판'을 사기위해 고군분투하던 기억이 새록새록한데...

위의 바로 저 우표도 그 당시 샀던 기억이난다.
그 때는 대통령이 해외순방 가는 게 무슨 대단한 국가적 경사인 줄 알았다.
비록 초딩이었지만 내 딴에 난 반골기질이 있다고 생각했는데도...역시나 국가적 경사이거니 생각했던 기억이 난다.

청와대에서 다시 방송국으로 돌려준 영상자료를 바탕으로 KBS의 고해성사적인 프로 하나가 그 의문을 살짝 풀어줬다.

참 옛날 방송언어는 요즘처럼 시니컬하지 않고 위트와 감성이 있었다.

아 그랬구나 대통령이 순방 갔다오면 귀환로는 전면통제되고 입체중계됐다.

외국 정상들과 맞짱뜨고 보듬어주고 귀환하는 국가원수의 퍼레이드
우표도 나오고 학교에서는 해외순방에 대한 특강이 이어지고 방송에서 연일 특집이고 거기다 이런 퍼레이드 장면 보고 있으면 참 뿌듯하지 않겠는가?
뭔지는 잘 몰라도 자랑스러워할만한 대단한 것들이 내 주변에서 현실이 되어가고 있구나하는 막연한 기쁨?

어차피 보도지침까지 내리고 언론사들을 통폐합시키던 무소불위의 권력이 존재하던 시절이라 저렇게 유치한 게 아닌가라고 넘기기에 좀 그런 장면도 있다.

큰 딸 결혼식 피로연 장면이다. 물론 방송용 아니다.

대화를 들어보면...
드럽지만 시켜서 한다를 넘어서는...알아서 빨아주는 냄새가 폴폴 난다.
그러나 나이가 들수록 이런 일들 절대 한심하다고만 넘겨지지 않는다.
시대가 다르고 아이템만 바뀌었을 뿐이지...
기성세대가 되어가는 우리가 하는 짓도 별반 크게 다르지 않다.
어느 새 비굴의 화신이 되어가는 자신에 깜짝 놀라는 것도 하루 이틀이다.
단지...저런 건 공인된 유치함으로 낙인이 되어서 편하게 바라볼 뿐이다.
내가 생존하기 위해 해야할 일이 무엇인가를 찾아내고 올인하는 사회성은 시공을 초월하는 인간의 본능이다.

그리고 어느 바닥이나 권력을 잡는 데 성공하는 자는 바로 그 점을 잘 알고 응용력을 발휘하는 사람이다.
